Your photos, kept private

Off the Roll is an iPhone app that picks your best photos each month and mails them to you as prints. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. Off the Roll is run by Michael Monreal in Houston, Texas. Questions: support@offtherollapp.com.

The short version

We use your photos only to print and ship your orders.
We never sell your information or use your photos for advertising.
We don't track you across other apps or websites.
You can delete your data at any time from the app.

What we collect

Photos you choose to print. With your permission, the app looks through your photo library on your phone to suggest photos. That review happens on your phone. Only the photos picked for your roll, and any photos you add yourself, are uploaded to our servers so they can be printed.
Shipping details. Your name and mailing address, and the name and address of anyone you choose to send a copy of your roll to.
Account information. An account ID created by the app. If you sign in with Apple, we receive the name and email you choose to share, which may be a private relay address from Apple.
Order details. Which photos are in each roll, how many copies and sizes, and your plan.
Payment information. When payments launch, they will be handled by our payment processor. We don't see or store your full card number.
Waitlist email. If you join the waitlist on this website, we store your email address to tell you when we launch.

How we use it

To print, package and mail your rolls and any extra prints you order.
To avoid printing the same photo twice.
To send you reminders and emails about your orders, which you can turn off.
To answer your questions and fix problems with an order.

Who we share it with

We share information only with companies that help us run Off the Roll, and only what they need:

Supabase stores your account, orders and uploaded photos.
Resend sends order and account emails.
Cloudflare runs this website and our email addresses.
Apple provides the App Store and Sign in with Apple.
Our payment processor handles payments, once they launch.
Postal and shipping carriers receive your name and address to deliver your prints.

We may also share information if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep your photos and order history while your account is active, so we can print, reprint and avoid repeating photos. When you delete your data, we delete your photos, orders and account from our servers.

Your choices

Delete your data. In the app, go to Settings and tap Delete my data. This removes your photos, orders and account. You can also email us.
Photo access. You can change the app's access to your photos at any time in your iPhone's Settings.
Reminders. You can turn reminders off in the app's Settings.
Waitlist. Email us to be removed from the waitlist.

Children

Off the Roll is meant for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. Many family photos include children; those photos belong to the account holder and are used only to print their orders.

Security

Photos are stored in private storage that only your account and our printing process can reach, and data is sent over encrypted connections. No system is perfect, so please contact us if you have a concern.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date above and tell you in the app for any important change.
